DSM-IV-TR Casebook Diagnosis of "Music Student"
Excerpt
There are two phases of this illness. In the first, the patient
is described as "depressed" and indecisive (".
. . he could come to no fixed resolutions") and as having
suicidal ideas (". . . thought of shooting himself").
We suspect that this was a Major Depressive Episode; but we do not
have enough information about other depressive symptoms, such as
loss of appetite and sleep disturbance, to make a firm diagnosis.
