Tracy Shaw, age 32, overweight, and wild looking,
was brought to the psychiatric emergency room by the police after
she had furiously shattered a full-length mirror in the principal's
office of her child's school. The psychiatrist who examined
her described her as "paranoid and dangerous to others" and
recommended immediate hospitalization by two-physician certification
if she refused to admit herself voluntarily.
