DSM-IV-TR Casebook Diagnosis of "Binoculars"
Excerpt
A 25-year-old male business executive requests
psychiatric consultation because of his repeated need to peep at
women undressing or engaging in sexual activity. The patient was
apprehended for this activity in the past, and the personnel office
at his place of work found out about it. He was advised that treatment
of his problem was mandatory and that he would lose his job if the behavior
were repeated. He did not seek professional assistance and continued
to engage in voyeuristic activity. Recently, he was almost caught
again, and because of this now seeks a consultation.
