DSM-IV-TR Casebook Diagnosis of "Sam Schaefer"
Excerpt
A psychiatrist was asked by the court to evaluate
a 21-year-old man arrested in a robbery because his lawyer raised
the issue of his competence to stand trial. During the course of
a 2-hour evaluation, the patient acknowledged frequent encounters
with the law since he was age 11 and incarceration in various institutions
for criminal offenses, but was reluctant to provide details about
them.
